The stoomketelmuseum is a well-kept Zottegem secret. You can see how two ship steam boilers used to keep the Sanitary Factory running. You can only visit the museum in groups and by appointment.
The museum – located in the former Protestant primary school – tells you everything about the history of the Protestant community from 1550 to the present. The museum is named after the folk writer Abraham Hans who was born in the teacher’s home in 1882.
The permanent exhibition shows the daily life of our ancestors based on numerous archaeological finds from the region. The educational programs really bring this history to life.
